Health and Safety Policy

JJB Sports recognises its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act and The Safety, Health and Welfare Act for ensuring so far as it is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of its employees and other persons affected by its activities.

JJB Sports attaches the greatest importance to Health and Safety, considering this to be a management responsibility ranking equally with other management functions within the organisation.

It is the policy of JJB Sports to take all reasonable practicable precautions for the prevention of accidents and dangerous occurrences and for the creation of working conditions which safeguard employees, customers, contractors and other visitors. To this end, JJB Sports will allocate the necessary resources and enlist the active support of all directors, managers and employees upon whom duties are also imposed by statutory obligations.

JJB Sports regards the standards set by the various statutory provisions as the minimum standards which must be achieved, and will endevaour to improve upon these standards wherever reasonably practicable.

This policy and the organisation, arrangements and safety rules which form part of it will be reviewed regularly, modified and updated as necessary.

To demonstrate our commitment to this Health and Safety Policy Statement, our Safety Management System and our objectives and targets will be regulary reviewed to ensure that they continue to improve safety performance and reduce work related injuries and ill health throughout all of JJB Sports retail premises.
