Supply Chain
JJB is one of the UK's leading sports retailers. Due to the complex nature of the supply chain JJB is also, in part, an international company. This fact brings with it exciting opportunities but also raises genuine issues about the working conditions in which goods sold in our stores are produced.
JJB recognises its duty as a business to uphold decent working conditions in all aspects of the supply chain, and we share in our suppliers' belief that better working conditions result in better productivity and better quality output.
JJB sources product directly from factories in various parts of the world and indirectly through the UK and European offices of International companies. In all those scenarios JJB expects that its trading partners engage fully with the code of practice that includes the corporate responsibility aims of JJB.
JJB continues to focus on the (Ethical Trading Initative) ETI Base Code of Labour Standards and the Model Code of Conduct devised by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods industry, and we expect our trading partners to comply with the principles outlined below.
- Employment is freely chosen, there is no forced, bonded or involuntary prison labour.
- Employees have the right to collective bargaining.
- Working Conditions are safe and hygienic.
- Child Labour shall not be used.
- Living wages are paid.
- Working hours are not excessive.
- No discrimination is practised.
- Regular employment is provided.
- No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.
- Anti–Corruption: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. JJB has a clear code of conduct on Gifts and Entertaining.
